Design research for Helping Babies Breathe

What are the most critical challenges to solve within Helping Babies Breathe program implementation to increase impact on newborn survival?

Helping Babies Breathe is an evidence-based hands-on training program developed to train health care providers in managing babies born not breathing.

Right now, HBB is being implemented in more than 80 countries, however, the impact is limited in several of them.

My task on this project was to, first, find a way for stakeholders to define what strategies to take by helping them understand the bigger picture. Secondly, define what oportunities exist whithin the problem framework so stakeholders can take action. I used methods as card sorting, journey mapping and expert interviews to dig out different oportunities.

Over-ear headphone ergonomics

During my internship at Swift Creatives I conducted an ergonomical study on how to ensure a good earcup-to-skin seal, so a well-known brand of headphones could improve sound quality and drastically enhance noise cancelling.

I conducted several 3D modelling and 3D printing tasks to create a skull geometry that can match everyone’s head shape.

I secondly explored how this surface could be used in a over-ear headphone concept. This involved learning new prototyping techniques totally new for the team, including making silicone parts out of 3D printed molds.
